Years of experience, thousands of miles of travel, and an eye for great style:
Antique Garden offers the best furniture, antiques, and designer clothing from around the globe. We have combed through High Point, New York, Atlanta, Dallas, France, Belgium, Italy, and England to find the best in home decor and antiques. Our vendors find their gems in China, Japan, Turkey, India, Indonesia, Russia, the Middle East, and Europe.
Says Co-Owner Barbara Fite, "We are very particular about the items we choose for the store. Everything is handpicked for its part of the total effect. We have many different sources for our stock. We love to be inventive in our displays and to show our things in a new light."
Barbara co-owns the store -- near the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma -- with daughter Mariah Pinkerton. The key to Antique Garden's success, Barbara says, is that the mother/daughter tandem love what they're doing.
"Sometimes I think this can't possibly be work because I love it so much," Barbara says. "I have always adored poking around flea markets and antique stores. It's the thrill of the hunt. And it's always in those out-of-the-way places, under blankets of dust, that you find real treasures and great bargains. What could be more fun than that?"
The partners take great pride in the ambience of the store and the artistic quality of their items. This article, quoted from Norman Living magazine, details the unique combination of antique beauty and modern flair that sets Antique Garden apart from competing stores.
Throughout Antique Garden, distressed wood floors complement salvaged architectural gems such as shutters, doors, columns, iron brackets, and mantels. These details weave together an interior space that feels like room in the country houses of Provence or Tuscany.
Antique Garden is filled with beautiful objects -- unique furniture, imported ceramics, ornamental iron, kilims, pillows, lamps, and, most recently, designer clothing and chic body products. The mother-daughter team and their talented staff blend antique and vintage pieces with new style for a look that is unique in Oklahoma.
